Our secret lake

A-ha!!! A wonderful lake we have: it is just in the right size for a boats contest, and it disappears in a few days after...

At first there was a shock. Couldn't be! After that a huge sadness in the air, like a blanket that covers the country. Mount Carmel was burnt. People lost their lives, others their homes.. Animmals lost their lives, their homes... and it was begun because of a few boys who didn't think. Now it was rainning, and the puddle near my house is growing, and I can't not to think why now and not a few days earlier.

The autumn is here

"what's new and tasty in this aquarium-like dish?

....mmmmmm, not a fish." (Adini, one of my three cats)

The autumn is here! It is still warm in Israel, but a bit less. The grocery stores full with different kinds of apples. The wind blows at the evening and we change our blankets to warmer ones... I like this weather so much, it causes unexplained desire to hug... Isn't it?

My Favorite Combination

My son keeps asking me what is my favorite color. I always answer that I love them all, but this answer isn't good enough for him. So I keep searching the answer... I love the combination of different hues of red and grey:

Flea Market 15/07

Lovely new finds from the flea market! How I love old lace and old porcelain!
My favorites are floral and clear modern designs. I know, It seems the opposite: cluttered and clean patterns, but this is my taste, I do love to combine them both.

A Peep To The Beaks

My birds are in progress. I can't wait to see them finished. I have tried a few techniques for the wings, beaks, legs and eyes. It was an interesting research, and I enjoy every minute of it! The next picture will be, probably, of the complete hoopoe...

Flea market

I went with My friend Dana to the flea market. It was a sunny day, we had a coffee at a nice coffee shop in the market, bought a few unnecessary must have old things, had a great lunch, and even got to Neve Tsedek too.
Such a pleasure!

Earth and sea

A new embroidered kenzashi brooch is in bloom! I love the combination of the natural colors of the brown and aqua . Looking at the brooch, the embroidery reminds me sea creature. I think I will make some .....

Pineapple and Friends

Three vases from the botanical line. It is a combination of wheel work and handbuild. I believe that plants have many functions to preserve the race that are very similar to parenthood. I love to look at seeds, fruits and leafs very closely. Sometimes they look very protective

Polka Dots and crackles

I used this pattern on a few bowls. It is made by drops of slips in different colors and clear crackles glaze. The crackles are darkened with Indian Ink. I love it since it looks very gentle and happy.
Have a gentle and a happy day!

Introduction

Hi, This is my first try to write in a blog.
I have a huge respect to traditional craftsmen, (craftsweman?) and to the endless beauty of nature. I love old things with great quality and esthetics, but also new things with wonderful designs...
This blog will present things that I love, made or admire.
Just finished an embroidered Kenzashi brooch:
